The Summer Storms are a Kansas City based Folk/Americana trio comprised of founding members Michael Ptacek (bass), Thaddeus O'Brien (vocals, guitar, mandolin), and Amanda O'Brien (vocals, dobro, harmonica, baritone ukulele). The trio has enjoyed broad-ranging inspiration from the folk & Americana, rock, jazz, and blues communities and aspires to create a warm, original sound that both lives in and defies the classifications of the musical genres from which it came. The Summer Storms songs are laden with rich harmonies, jazz influenced bass lines as well as dobro and harmonica accentuation.
